My Top 10 Blog Posts of 2025

Before getting to my Top 10 Blog Posts of 2025, I want to say how amazed I am that this blog continues to get the views that it does, especially since so many people say that blogging is becoming outdated. (This year alone my blog received over 81,000 views!) Videos and podcasts are all the rage these days, but I have always been a bit old school.

One reason I keep up with my blog is that it offers a creative outlet and doing it helps me feel less stressed. It also reminds me that this is one project that I started and have continued. (I love to start new projects but have a hard time keeping them going or finishing them. I will try to work on that this year!)

Yet one more reason is because I want to give God glory for all that He has done in my life and use the gift that He has given me to hopefully be a blessing and an encouragement to others.

In 2025, here were my most-viewed blogs:

Faith with her very first physical therapist.

This blog post was written specifically for the month of March, which is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. It discusses how Faith's diagnosis of cerebral palsy came to be and what that has meant for her and her parents. I also discuss in the blog how she has grown to be a such an amazing human being in light of going through all of the challenges that CP has thrown her way.

Faith having fun at the annual 4th of July parade in Mandan, ND

This year's 4th of July was especially celebratory. Not only did we celebrate this wonderful country's independence, but we also celebrated two of Faith's cousins who had graduated from high school. Since they both live out of state, we decided to have one big party for the two of them. The day ended with a fireworks show right out our front window!

Faith's Grandma feeding her with a little tiny bottle

One of the hardest parts about Faith's disability has been understanding how it affects her digestion. Unfortunately, things that doctors told us to do didn't always work so well for Faith. This meant doing a lot of research on my own and a lot of trial and error. This blog discusses some of the things I have found through the years that have helped improve Faith's digestion.

Swimming has become one of Faith's favorite activities.

Faith used to do aquatic therapy several years ago and in the past couple of years has gotten back to it. She loves how light she feels when getting into the warm water and how it helps her muscles to relax. There are other advantages of aquatic therapy as well, which I talk about in this blog post.

Faith's 21st Birthday was a memorable one!

Faith actually turned 22 in 2025, but her 21st birthday continues to be a well-remembered one! This blog post details all the things she did during the month of October as part of her 21st birthday celebration. Supper with friends, a trip to Fargo, and a concert, were just a few of the fun events she enjoyed!

Despite how she felt, Faith still powered through therapy.

It's kind of odd to me that this blog post made the cut for one of the most viewed in 2025. Maybe the wording caused people to be curious. The "weird week" included Faith dealing with a really bad summer cold, a heat advisory, and how I found a missing package from our mail room!

Faith enjoying a walk through the fallen leaves.

Fall is my favorite time of the year! I think Faith probably likes Spring a little more because that means our cold, snowy winter is finally behind us. However, there are plenty of things she gets excited about when the leaves start to change color. This blog discusses 5 of them!

Can you guess this puzzle from this older Wheel of Fortune episode?

I love that this is one of my most-viewed blogs for 2 years in a row! Faith has loved Wheel of Fortune ever since she was in grade school. But one of her favorite parts of the show was how much Pat made her laugh. The transition from Pat to Ryan was a tough one, but since I posted the review, things have improved with Ryan and Faith actually really likes him!

This post, written in 2011 detailed my account of getting a tetanus shot and the negative side effects I experienced. Because of that ordeal, I am afraid of getting another tetanus shot ever again! This post made my top 10 list last year, too and continues to be one of my most popular blog posts ever.

In my early blogging days, I networked with other bloggers, especially parents whose children had special needs. It's interesting that many of those people are no longer blogging. I often wonder what happened to the children and the families.

Although, I did recently reconnect with one of those bloggers on a Facebook Group I am a part of called Parents of Adult Children With Special Needs. She had posted about her 22-year-old son recently moving to a group home and left a link to her blog. I was like, "I know her!"

Anyway, back in the day, us bloggers would write guest posts for each other's blogs, which was the case for this post, written in 2011 by Stephen Gallup. Along with blogging about his experiences as a father with a special needs son, Stephen also wrote the book, "What About the Boy?  A Father's Pledge to His Disabled Son."

Future Writing Projects

It's hard to believe this blog has been going for 16 years and I have no thoughts of ever discontinuing it. In fact, I am hoping to expand another blog I started several years ago that contains posts on other topics that are of interest to me. One reason for this is because AI has been taking over many writing sites on the Internet.

One site in particular I used to write for (HubPages) recently disclosed they are shutting down. I had written over 100 articles for the website, so I plan to move those articles over to my other blog. I am kind of excited about this, because the hard work of writing is done, I just have to recreate them to fit in with my other blog!

In 2026, there are a few other writing projects I hope to complete, and when the time comes, I can't wait to share them with you!

Blessings to you in the New Year and thanks for reading!
